Shura Council is The Consultative Council (Majlis al-shura), also known as the Shura Council, is the upper house of the National Assembly, the main legislative body of Bahrain.
The Council comprises forty members appointed directly by the King of Bahrain. The forty seats of the Consultative Council combined with the forty elected seats of the Council of Representatives form the National Assembly of Bahrain.

Shura Council was looking for migrate on-premises servers to AWS cloud environment.
Beyon Solutions offered below solution as per AWS best practices to Shura and migrated Application and Database with minimal disruption of services.
Beyon Solutions believe it will be possible to move the current on-prems setup servers and AD services outlined in this section, with minimal disruption. A partially managed solution will be used, using managed services such as Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), and Elastic Block Store (EBS). DBs to be migrated as EC2.
AWS Services Used: EC2 – EBS – S3 – AWS system manager – AWS trusted Advisor
Challenges:
Data migration was one of the challenges for Shura on-prems environment. legislation and Sensitive data had added an extra layer of worry when migrating. Shura concerned about potential security issues, losing data during their data migration. Shura needed to know what measures would be taken to protect them from potential issues.
Beyon Solutions advised Shura to follow the AWS guidelines for protecting sensitive data in Cloud.
These include:
- Ensure that data is encrypted.
- Use only trusted third parties.
- Use secure protocols.
- Make sure there is no unauthorized access to sensitive data.
Beyon Solutions team used the Active Directory Migration Toolkit (ADMT) along with the Password Export Service (PES) to migrate self-managed AD to AWS Directory Service for Microsoft Active Directory, also known as AWS Managed Microsoft AD. This enabled Beyon Solutions team to migrate AD objects and encrypted passwords for Tamkeen more easily.
