Beyon Solutions has recommended that Flexsell use Amazon RDS as its managed relational database service, which provides Flexsell with familiar database engines to choose from, because Amazon RDS can handle routine database tasks such as patching, backups and recovery, provisioning, failure detection and repair.
Flexsell is a startup with no large IT team or database administrators.

Also, Amazon RDS provide on demand snapshot backups, that considered as Full back up of the database that can be used to create new database RDS from it. As well as that, Amazon RDS Multi-AZ deployments provide enhanced availability and durability for Flexsell database that are automatically synchronous and replicate to the standby instance in a different Availability Zone. And in the event of a hardware failure Flexsell IT Team will not need to interfere as Amazon RDS will automatically replace the compute instance to a healthy host.
- Manageability: Flexsell can benefit from Amazon CloudWatch metrics for their Amazon RDS database instances at no additional charge to view crucial operational metrics, including compute, storage and memory capacity utilization, and instance connections. Also by using Amazon SNS for notifications Amazon RDS can notify Flexsell and Beyon Solutions through email or SMS text message of any database events.
- Cost effective: having zero up front commitment has major impact on any Startup companies like Flexsell. they don’t have to buy licenses for their database as with Amazon RDS Flexsell will simply pay a monthly charges as they use it. Also, Amazon RDS will allows Flexsell IT Team to easily stop and start their database instances for up to seven days at a time. This makes it easy and affordable to use databases for development and test purposes when their database is not required to be running all of the time.
